I was so happy when I watched an incident shown on TV today. This was on one of the English News Channels - CNN IBN I think.
Indian Cricketer Irfan Pathan was on the red carpet at some kind of a function. The young lady presenter who was handing him a gift reached up her hand to the back of his neck to pull him down for a kiss on the cheek.
Irfan however was taken aback and uncomfortable with it. He pulled back and gently but firmly removed her hand from his person and backed away.
Since this happened in front of all the cameras, the girl was left embarrassed, but still did not seem to have learnt her lesson. When camerapersons asked her how she felt, she replied that she was happy that she atleast got to touch him.
How would the very same media act if the roles were reversed and it was a male fan pulling Aishwarya Rai for a kiss. Would the press be so understanding and sympathetic if he said "Atleast I was able to touch her"!!
